Not-for-Profit Board Member Liability

August 29, 2013

People that serve as a volunteer or an officer on a not-for-profit organization board should make sure they are covered for personal liability.board

Many organizations have coverage that protect board members.  You should examine those policies to make sure of the coverage and exceptions.

I serve on some boards as an officer and member that do not have coverage to protect board members.  I checked with my insurance broker and she advised me that I am covered under my personal umbrella policy if the organization is a not-for-profit and I do not receive any compensation other than reimbursement of expenses.  If you are on boards, check your protection.

You may also want to check out other coverage.  See my Blog from August 30, 2012 on insurance coverage.

Yup, you know this guy, yes he has a beard, and that beard can kick
your ass. Be sure to layer in original and more conversational posts along with your more promotional style messages.
Direct mailings over a period of time, or many successful
marketers set the individual segments up into an email marketing auto responder program
that sends the messages out to a predetermined list of clients
and customers over a prearranged rate.
